Is your workplace toxic?

Is your workplace toxic?

Have you ever worked in a toxic environment?

Toxic environments make us feel trapped. They are mentally and physically draining. They demand the best out of us but do not offer the sense of reward, safety and personal fulfilment that is deserved for your labour.

Sadly, this is a reality for many employees and with today’s uncertain job market - thousands of people are trapped in jobs which can have severe impacts on their mental health. For many people in this situation, the only option seems to be either to grit and bear it or to find another job.

I like to believe there is no one in their workplace to be like this. I don’t think anyone creates a business where they want their staff to be unhappy. I want to believe that toxic work environments are like a disease which, when the right effort is applied, can be avoided and even cured.

Today I am launching aremystaffhappy.com - it is a ludicrously simple piece of software which connects to your organisation's slack account and sends a monthly set of 20 short and easy to answer questions. It takes these responses and presents them completely anonymously to enable managers to get a snapshot of their company’s happiness together with anonymously submitted feedback.

We want to make it the norm for companies to conscientiously look to improve their workplace environment. We want it to be something for companies to brag about when they have a good score and we want managers to start having difficult but open conversations with their teams when they see something is wrong.

It is simple, basic, a little unpolished and our first attempt to try and offer something to make the world a better place to work. There are better pieces of software out there - we tried them - but ours is uncomplicated and affordable for organisations of any size.

I hope you are willing to give this little tool we put together a try, there are no hidden costs, just a monthly flat fee of £12 per month regardless of your company size. This is the start of a journey for us and we would love to get your feedback to help us help everyone.
